Making teams
human again.
Freelance Agile Coach & Scrum Master based in Siegen, Germany. I help teams talk with each other again — not just about each other.
Most agile problems aren't process problems.

I'm Nicolas — Agile Coach and Scrum Master, with a background as a frontend developer. Unghost is my attempt to do what gets lost in so many teams: actually listening to each other.
A team that suddenly pushes back loudly because a retro tool gets replaced doesn't have a tooling problem. It's showing you how much it cares about its own dynamics — and how little that's normally talked about. That's exactly where I start: not with more process, but with what's actually happening between the people on the team.
As an Agile Coach and Scrum Master, I work with teams across Germany — on-site around Siegen (Freudenberg, Kreuztal, Olpe) or fully remote. Whether it's stepping in as an interim Scrum Master, supporting a team over several months, or facilitating a single workshop: I adapt to what your team actually needs instead of running a fixed package.

Scrum, Agile — and why it's relevant to your team.
What is Agile?
A way of working for a world that keeps changing: ship in short cycles, get feedback early, adapt instead of planning for months. Not a rigid rulebook — a mindset.
What is Scrum?
The best-known agile framework. Fixed roles, fixed rhythms — sprints, reviews, retros — and a clear frame that lets a team make good decisions on its own.
Why it matters
Because the theory is usually clear, but execution fails on people — communication, trust, unclear expectations. That's exactly where good facilitation comes in.
Why book me?
- Practice over theory. I was on the team myself — as a developer — before becoming a Scrum Master. I know both sides.
- Focus on people, not just process. Tools and ceremonies are a means to an end, never the goal itself.
- Flexible engagement. Interim Scrum Master, focused coaching, or workshops — whatever your team needs right now.
- Certified and experienced. PSPO I, Graves Model 1 & 2, Change Management Coaching.

What's the difference between a Scrum Master and an Agile Coach?
A Scrum Master usually works closely with a single team, making sure Scrum as a framework actually works — sprints, ceremonies, removing impediments. An Agile Coach looks more broadly, across multiple teams, leadership, and the organization. In practice, I take on both roles depending on the engagement, often blending into each other.
Do you work remote or only on-site?
Both. I'm available on-site around Siegen and the surrounding area (NRW, Germany), and work just as well remotely with teams anywhere in Germany — whatever makes the most sense for your team and the way you collaborate.
What team size or industry is Agile Coaching suited for?
Basically any team working with Scrum, Kanban, or another agile approach — or looking to adopt one — regardless of industry or size. The methods stay similar; I adapt the approach to your context.
How long does a typical engagement last?
Anywhere from a single workshop or retro facilitation to a multi-month engagement as an interim Scrum Master. We figure this out in the first conversation, depending on whether it's an acute need or a longer-term transformation.
What does a freelance Scrum Master cost?
That depends a lot on scope — day rate, project length, and the range of tasks all play a role. Send me a short note on what you need, and you'll get a fitting offer.
